ALIS - FIDEURB Project

LIQUID FOREST

In collaboration with the Nuevo Leon State Government and the Nuevo Leon Urban Development Trust (FIDEURB) , ALIS is implementing one of the most ambitious green infrastructure initiatives in the Monterrey metropolitan area: the installation of liquid microalgae forests in key urban spaces.

This joint project with FIDEURB represents a concrete step towards sustainable urban development, bringing green innovation to the streets, and road corridors of Monterrey, offering a biotechnological solution in urban areas where it is not possible to plant traditional vegetation.

Our liquid trees are biotechnological systems that capture carbon dioxide (CO₂), generate oxygen, and filter atmospheric pollutants, utilizing the natural power of microalgae. They function as living urban lungs where traditional trees cannot be planted, helping to improve air quality, reduce the carbon footprint, and regenerate public spaces with a modular, clean, and aesthetically pleasing solution.

With each unit installed, we help to tackle climate change, but also we help to improve the relationship between city, nature and community.

This progress has also been possible thanks to the valuable support of the Ministry of Economy of Nuevo León , which through the 2022 Import Substitution program, promoted the technological development of ALIS, laying the foundations so that today we can bring this innovation to the streets of our city.

Benefits for the City

Inspired by international experiences and adapted to our local reality, ALIS's liquid trees are more than just technology: they are educational, social, and environmental tools that promote citizen participation, ecological awareness, and the activation of public spaces.
